Well, it seems that this years theme for wood on the vendor floor is Ebony,
a whole bunch of Macassur in fairly large chunks, about $45/bf. Amboynia
Burl, some of the best I have ever seen at $15-$20/LBS. Thuya Burl (Morroco)
abounds, at a low price of $12/lbs. (Not a bad deal actually)
Delta has a new lathe they are showing on the floor with a cast iron head stock, but it looks to be about 24" between centers. Oneway had a prototype of a new boring bar holder that is very adjustable, made from (powder coated) 16 gauge steel. They also showed a tail stock add on for their outboard setup, adaptable to the ones in the field. I will keep you informed.

This
huge (36x40?) slab of Amboyna burl can be your for $1900. Plenty more
smaller hunks at equally reasonable prices.
