AAW 2006 Symposium
Vendor Booths

Demonstrators Collaborative Challenge Instant Gallery MAIN Step Up to the Plate

I have been to dozens of symposiums and trade shows, and the AAW symposium is generally setup to sell product with (not so elaborate) booths to enable the sale of a product and not much glitz and glamour.

Cryo Engineering, who is debuting their new line of Cryo-tempered tools (they purchased Glaser) has a full on real live large and in-charge, trade show booth. I will post pictures of it when it is all the way up.

I would also say that this is probably the largest of any of the woodturning trade shows that I have participated in. If you can't find a tool or piece of wood here you need, change hobbies.

The new mini tool setup from CET. Using Glaser handles. They also have a smaller selection with the Bonnie Klien name

This is how the tools are displayed in the CET booth.

Look at the size of that roughing gouge!

Looking down the barrel of the CET tool. This screws into the handle

Close up of the shank of the CET tools

The reciever end of the tool handle

This shows the profile. The idea is that the thicker portion of the tool, closest to the shaft, deadens vibration

Snakewood!

Mmmmm! Tulip wood

This is one very large Cocolbollo block, I think I figured it at around 10BF

This is a company that Mike Mahoney is involved in that sells roughed out kiln dried bowls

New bandsaw attachment from Laguna that allows you to put a blank on and cut it round. Very cool and allows you to easily move the blank.

New faceplate system from Oneway. It has a part (white thing in the foreground) that gets bolted to the blank and then it locks into a "receiver" with keyholes (shiny thing at the top)

West Penn Hardwoods. Bet ya can't buy just one.

Cindy Drozda demoing in the CET booth

Hey look at me. (OK, and Gary Sanders of the box and lightstand fame.)

Ruth (Niles) has a line of stainless steel bottle stoppers. Very nice product.
