Vendor Floor Pics

Where do I start? We (and many others no doubt) had an 8:20 am out of DFW to Richmond and at about 7:30 am they cancelled. We had upgrades so it would have been awesome. Go put on a 2:30PM that left at 3:45pm, go into the hotel around 9pm. Could not setup until the next morning and (not) surprisingly enough, we were informed we couldn't get in to setup until 7:50am (literature said 7am). Anyway, some cool new stuff, some bowl lathes some awesome wood, saw Johannes demo a full size hat and a small hat on the vendor floor, Stuart Batty cranked some stuff out demoing. All in all a good first day.

Went to the Capital Bar, saw Chris and had a few great beers and a sandwich, now a good nights rest.

Ed Davidson has some great snaps from the show

New lathes from

Robust - Sweet 16 - Short bed with pull out bed gap, looks real nice - 1.5HP

Serious is ready to ship their player in the high end, large lathe market

Newcomer to the high end lathe market, EBO (Bowl Elephant) were showing an interesting pedestal lathe that will convert from a bowl lathe to a long bed

.

More wood porn than you would care to pay for! Great shipment of Macassar Ebony from Penn Hardwoods and some others.

Afterwards we went to DC for the usual monument and gallery tour. Met Frank Stephanski acting as the tour guide for Terry Martin and Betty Scarpino while we were going through the Renwick Gallery.

All in all a great symposium, about 1600 registered and probably about half that many unregistered wandering around the free attractions of the vendor area  and instant gallery.
