Blog or rant: You decide 6-24 6pm MST - Well, after 650 miles of driving (did you know the speed limit is 75 MPH in New Mexico?) we made is and have settled into the alternate hotel (Doubletree). It is located across from the convention center. For Rob Wallace, I am happy to say there is a local brewery, Isotope, that makes a descent Amber ale. (Like Fat tire, hoppy, but a little sweeter). The bar food is pretty descent and reasonably priced. Got a burger with cheese and fries and green chilies (what else do you want in New Mexico?) and it was sub $6. And good! On the 13th floor, the view is nice, weather is better than in Dallas (about 85, partial cloudy and rainy). Bar tender is in the wrong job, not real talkative, but he can deliver drinks. |

6-25 Interesting. So far it rains every night. Enough to take
the heat edge off the day after you have already experienced it. Of course it is the opening of the special demonstrations and exhibits The

Well, got a chance to talk with the
Easyrougher
guy (and Mrs. Easyrougher) and actually traded for one of them (the
finishing tool). I must say, the machine work on the tool is awesome..
They were very nice folks. Met David Marks at the auction, and introduced myself to Bud Latvin. In fact if you don't now who he is, it is well worth the Google effort. And you know, almost every woodturner I have ever met was amongst the most gracious people. Knowing one and the introduce you to another as if you have been their live long friend. Had some beverages with the nice folks at Tropical Exotic Hardwoods, known them for years. They had some nice Massur Birch logs. Looked at some new collet chucks and live centers brought in by the Sanding Glove. |

Well, I am back in town after a few days in Sante Fe, after all, I
needed some R&R. Visited galleries museums and restaurants, Love that
green.chile! Drank some Sleeping Dog Stout at the Blue Corn Cafe. It will take a week of so to get through all he photos, overall a fun show, but not a whole lot of new products, 7/4 (Happy 4th) in retrospect, it was good to see and meet some new faces: David Springett of Woodturning Wizardry fame, was demonstrating. 7/5 Added Vendor Floor Pictures, collab and demo pictures |
