Well, another symposium comes and goes. It is rather whirlwind, fly in
Thursday, hurry to setup, get some grub and sleep. Then it becomes a
sleep, work, sleep cycle until it is over, Talked to several people
about BOWLSFORHUNGER.ORG an
organization we have formed to make woodturners aware of the problem
with hunger in America and what they can do to help. Were glad to have some great vendors beside us, Trent Bosch (and family), Curt Theobald and the Binh Pho family. David Nittmann is now selling paint and airbrush supplies. |

Trent Bosch now has his pneumatic carving stand out and it is real slick, comes with foot pedal for releasing and locking the head. For the amount of research and technology in it, it is pretty reasonable. Doug Thompson, Thompson lathe tools has a new handle out and was offering free laser engraving with purchase. Brought the engraver with him and was done on-site. Saw a new lathe introduced from Magma-Titan, looks cool, but he will have some stiff competition with what Brent at Robust has as well as Oneway and others in the premium lathe space We were across from a both that sells an off-center chuck, SHAPESHIFTERTOOLS.COM. Talked with so many customers or Turningwoods sanding products, my head is spinning. A few that comes to mind are Jeff Salter, who has a video out about his cable system for fluting vessels. Really cool, he was demoing at the Stubby both and has a short YOUTUBE VIDEO about his video on it. We have also started supplying abrasives to a new turning school (new
to us!) Jimmy Clewes! Welcome to the group Jimmy.
